A a result of the lighting change, the games' colors lost a lot of saturation. Allowed gradient lighting on characters - meaning that you could have a gradual change from light to dark, instead of the two-toned look. This all worked very well: all the pieces of the overall package completed each other. On the GC, there were very basic shadows, and all colors were two-toned: they had a single light and a single dark version of the color, depending on lighting. The reason I dislike the WWHD's look is because of the changes to the lighting and shadows. SO! The Wind Waker HD: it has a higher resolution and far more powerful lighting. Rather than derail that thread, here's a new one! So I made an off-hand comment in another thread about how the Wind Waker HD looks worse than the original Wind Waker, and some people wanted me to explain. ![]()
